Credit toward the continuing education requirement for licensed appraiser trainees, certified residential appraisers, and certified general appraisers will not be granted for courses that are less than two instructional hours. A final examination is not required on courses administered for the purpose of continuing education.
Effective January 1, 2005, all continuing education hours submitted for credit must be in appraiser topics. This includes any course completed through REALTOR® boards and/or proprietary schools. This is in accordance with a mandate from the Federal Appraisal Subcommittee in Washington, D.C.
R.S. 3394.B.4 (2012 Act 429) (Add a link to citation) requires all trainees who have been licensed in excess of two years shall be required to obtain continuing education that is equivalent to fifteen classroom hours of instruction for each year.
