General certified real estate appraiser means a person who holds a current, valid license issued to him by the board for appraisal of all types of real estate regardless of complexity or transaction value.

Education Criteria - 300 hours of AQB required Core Curriculum courses as listed here AND a Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Experience Criteria - A minimum of 3,000 hours of qualifying experience obtained in no fewer than 18 months, where a minimum of 1,500 hours must be obtained in non-residential appraisal work.

Examination Criteria - The education and experience review for a license as a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser must be satisfied prior to submission of the application for testing. Candidates must successfully complete the General Certified Appraiser Examination with a passing score of 75%.
